Shelley Kessler earned a B.S. with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1973. She received her credentials as a Certified Public Accountant in 1988. In addition, she is an accredited member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Government Accountants.
Following her graduation from college, Mrs. Kessler worked for the Social Security Administration in Boston, New Orleans, Galveston and Austin for ten years. After her service with the federal government, Mrs. Kessler worked as an Assistant State Auditor for the State Auditor of Texas and as Lead Accountant for the Galveston Independent School District. In 1999, she joined the staff of the Transitional Learning Center as Director of Accounting. In this capacity she supervises accounting activities for the various components of the Center.
