Technology and Equipment

TLC provides the latest state-of-the-art equipment and the most innovative, evidenced based treatment combined with the most experienced qualified staff available. No matter where the patient is at during the rehabilitation process, we have the team, tools and technology to help.

Our team evaluates each patient focusing on movement patterns, strength, flexibility, functional ability, balance, and tone. Therapists work closely as a team with physician, therapist, direct care staff and family members to adapt each treatment as a patient progresses toward reaching each goal. Therapists use a variety of equipment and technology to enhance progress, patient experience and engagement, including:

MotoMed Muvi: Reduces spasms, activates remaining muscle strength, supports the healing process through a stronger sense of movement and balance, enhances blood circulation, encourages walking, and expands personal capabilities. For the first time it is possible to train both areas simultaneously.  Passive or active training, the movement speed and the resistance level for legs and arms can be adjusted separately for simultaneous movement.

Biodex Balance System: Improves balance, increases agility, strength, range of motion, static and dynamic gait and balance training. Twelve levels of platform control as well as static force settings. Balance training – Includes proprioception, stabilization, range of motion and weight shift exercises. Able to capture, quantify and document a patient’s relative tendency to overcompensate to one side or the other.

The ZeroG® Gait and Balance System: Walking, balance activities, postural tasks, sit-to-stand, stairs, getting off the floor and more. Protects patients from falls while providing dynamic body-weight support as patients practice walking, balance tasks, sit-to-stand maneuvers and even stairs. Because ZeroG is mounted to an overhead track, there are no barriers between the patient and therapist. With ZeroG, patients can begin rehabilitation in a safe, controlled environment.

Bionik InMotion ARM: The InMotion ARM™ Robot is evidence based, intelligent, interactive technology that is capable of continuously adapting to and challenging each patient’s ability. Patients can reach up to 400-1000 reps/session, increases range of motion, coordination, strength, movement speed, movement smoothness. This robotic equipment allows the clinician to efficiently deliver personalized intensive sensorimotor therapy to neurologic patients. Therapeutic exercise games for: motor planning, eye-hand coordination, attention, visual field deficits/neglect. Works with occupational, physical and speech therapy.
