The Robert L. Moody Prize 2003-2004 Recipient

DePompei.jpgThe 2003-04 Robert L. Moody Prize for Distinguished Initiatives in Brain Injury Research and Rehabilitation, was presented to Dr. Roberta DePompei, a professor and clinical supervisor of speech-language pathology and audiology at the University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio.

Dr. DePompei is an internationally known expert in brain injury and is recognized for her research and development of clinical techniques for cognitive-communication and school reintegration issues for youth. She is an advocate for the rights of youth and their families, and has made hundreds of presentations to educators, health care professionals and families. She has assisted in writing policy and procedures for improved care, directed funded research projects and most importantly, has prepared future professionals to provide quality services for school-age children in this country who have sustained a brain injury.
