TLC acquires three year CARF accreditation

(Galveston, TX) August 18, 2017 – The Transitional Learning Center (TLC) announced that both its Galveston and Lubbock, TX facilities has been accredited for a period of three years by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International).


CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement that centers on enhancing the lives of persons served. This achievement is indicative of TLC's commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality. The accreditation will extend through June 30, 2020.

Programs Awarded Accreditation Include:

• Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Programs: Brain Injury Specialty

Program (Adults)

• Interdisciplinary Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Programs: Brain Injury Specialty

Program (Children and Adolescents)

• Residential Rehabilitation Programs: Brain Injury Specialty Programs (Adults)

TLC Core Areas of Excellence Include:

The survey praised key aspects of TLC's programs, including its leadership, employee commitment, strategic planning processes, data collection, staff training, and brain injury advocacy, awareness, and research.  Other core areas of excellence identified by the survey:
