The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) recently announced Brent E. Masel, M.D. as the recipient of the Sheldon Berrol M.D. Clinical Service Award.
Each year, the Sheldon Berrol M.D. Clinical Service Award is presented to an individual who, through a long service career, has made outstanding contributions to improving the quality of care, professional training, and/or education in the field of brain injury.
Brent E. Masel, M.D. is president and medical director at the TransitionalLearningCenter, a nationally recognized Pioneer in the field of postacute and long term brain injury rehabilitation and treatment program with facilities in Galvestonand Lubbock, TX. He has conducted research and published in the area of headache pain management and has provided numerous in-service training seminars and lectures at a variety of local, state and national conferences and is an international speaker on the topic of Growth Hormone Deficiency and Hypopituitarism and Rehabilitation following an acquired brain injury. He serves on the governing board of The Moody Endowment and serves as BIAA’s National Medical Director.
The awards was presented at the American Congress of Rehabilitative Medication (ACRM) annual conference, which was recently held Disney’s Contemporary Resort inOrlando,FL.
